With @charleycrockett and Johnny Cash playing on repeat in the background, I think Rob and I have had our most productive weekend EVER. 😅🤷🏼‍♀️ From finishing up tile work in the guest bath and touching up paint throughout the house all the way to deep cleaning / decluttering / organizing both guest bedrooms, our master bedroom + bathroom, and our closet (oh and deep cleaning the kitchen and living room!) ... we don’t sit still well if you can’t tell. HA! 🤣 Meanwhile, I feel like I need a 3 day long nap now. But it seriously felt so good to get our spring cleaning and purging out of the way while we were stuck at home. (and it makes me so happy when I’ve got a massive pile of donations to take!) // What have y’all been up to this weekend? Soaking up some much needed R&R - or are you also using this energy to try and be productive around the house? I plan to share on the blog this week a guide for ruthlessly decluttering if you’re wanting to tackle the same thing while you’re at home! 💪🏼 #ahostinghome

CORONA DAY 1: Honestly, how are you feeling about this whole thing? I feel like I’m not so worried about the virus itself, but more of the stupidity of other people. && What I mean by that is — when people panic or get in a tough spot, they get stupid and it can hurt other people. (ie. An all out brawl in a Sams Club over a case of water.) But really, that’s all I have to say about that! Let’s just be smart, stay informed, and remember God is in control. (Jesus, take the wheel 🤦🏼‍♀️) ALSO — Since everyone is staying home the next couple weeks, I hope I can use this space to help you make the most of it! From DIY projects, to decluttering and changing things up with things you may already have at home, (aka. shop your home!) I’m hoping to share a lot of ways you can make the most of your time cooped up inside and refresh your home this Spring. What do you think? Are you up for it?! Thank you SO much for all your love on the guest bathroom makeover picture I shared on my feed yesterday! && if you haven’t seen it yet, you NEED to... 💛✨ I must say — I even surprised myself with this one! I don’t think I’ve ever loved a bathroom more. 🤷🏼‍♀️ // P.S. Anyone else feel like their house falls into utter chaos when they’re consumed with a DIY project? Today’s mission: catch up on laundry (and folding the mountain of clothes on the breakfast nook table 🤦🏼‍♀️) and clean the kitchen. Now that the bathroom is done, I can’t wait to finish decorating for Spring! 🌿☀️ #ahostinghome

I wasn’t planning to share another picture of the guest bathroom makeover until I revealed it on the blog — BUT I’m too excited (plus awful at surprises or keeping secrets! 🤷🏼‍♀️) so I couldn’t help but bring y’all in on my excitement. Everything came together so much better than I had imagined in my head, and I’m in LOVE with how it looks. 💛 What a rush it was to let go, go bold in my design choices, and just let the creative juices flow. Honestly, the huge transformation this was from a builder grade bathroom speaks for itself.

It’s been full steam ahead on the guest bathroom

It’s been full steam ahead on the guest bathroom makeover this weekend in order to get this wrapped up — but I had to go ahead and hang up Fluffy and the hooks to get a feel for the look. AND I’M FEELING IT. 😍 // This project definitely has been taking longer than I thought, but I’ve been working on it slowly each day between all the other things on my to-do list. (Gotta do what you gotta do, friend!) After a few days working on painting the black brush marks I am so excited to be finally done and wrapping up the finishing touches on everything! I’m obsessed with how stinkin’ cool it looks — but boy, was that not for the faint of heart! It was a slow process since I used a laser level to make sure my lines were at least straight. Not to mention, going SUPER slow to not mess up with black paint. 🤦🏼‍♀️ In the end, I will say it was still better than wallpaper though. 💁🏼‍♀️ Next up: the shelf and mirror frame are stained and ready to go up tomorrow after church && and the trim is ready to be put up too! Happy March, friends! (and Happy Monday!) ☘️✨ My new entryway is giving me all the Spring vibes, and I can’t wait to see it transformed into all the seasons over the next year. But a new month means a new to-do list, and I’ve got a list about a mile long of things I need to get done before the end of the month, from cleaning and decluttering to all the projects — and I’m hoping to have the guest bathroom makeover completely finished this week! I’ve learned a lot during this project so far. Two things especially: 1. This Cascades by @sherwinwilliams that I am using in the bathroom after using it in our entryway makeover is absolutely gorgeous — and I want to incorporate it everywhere now! 😍 2. I never realized how much I would loathe trying to paint behind a toilet. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Spoiler alert: it’s almost impossible 🤦🏼‍♀️ // Take a peek at the progress on Insta Stories, and in the meantime leave me any paint / project questions here and I’ll make sure to answer them in a blog post soon! 💛 #ahostinghome
