DIY Pumpkin Flower Arrangement
DIY Pumpkin Flower Arrangement
Who else is ready for pumpkin season?! While I don’t plan to do as much as I normally do, I’m definitely tackling fall decorating early this year. I really want to embrace more minimal fall touches to make our house warm and cozy as we get ready to bring this baby home.
Last week, I tested out the new Instagram Reels to show y’all {a really sped up version} how easy it is to make a cute pumpkin arrangement using faux floral stems for Fall. (Make sure you’re following me on Instagram, HERE!) In case you missed it, I decided to also include a little tutorial on the blog today so you can look back and reference it whenever you’re ready to start decorating for Fall!

DIY Pumpkin Floral Arrangement
Whether you make an arrangement to use as your table’s centerpiece or you use it on a console table (or even your coffee bar!), a DIY pumpkin floral arrangement is definitely an easy and unique way to display those beloved Fall florals. A couple years ago, I used the same concept with a mason jar for a unique twist on displaying a fresh flower centerpiece. You can see that tutorial, HERE. This year, I decided to use faux floral stems from Hobby Lobby to create an arrangement for our console table in the living room. The possibilities are really endless. Not to mention, having so many different ways to style a pumpkin floral arrangement makes it super easy to change up your fall decorating each year while not breaking the bank!
Materials
- Medium to Large Craft Pumpkin – You could easily do this with a real pumpkin as well!
- Floral Foam Block
- A Knife
- Assorted Flowers – I used 3 Green Sunflower Picks, 5 Gold Hydrangea Picks, and 5 Cream Flower Buds & Berries Picks in my flower arrangement.
Instructions
1. Carve Your Pumpkin
Like I mentioned before, you could easily do this with a real pumpkin. It would be super pretty paired with a runner and bunching of heirloom pumpkins on your Thanksgiving tablescape this year. I opted for a plastic pumpkin that I could reuse year after year, and this is my third year using it in my fall decor!
This DIY is really easy. It’s so easy that I feel silly writing a blog post on it. All you need to do is carve an opening in the top of your pumpkin that is large enough to fit a mason jar or a block of floral foam. (I use a mason jar for fresh flowers that need water and floral foam for faux floral stems.)
2. Arrange Your Flowers
Let’s go ahead and put out this disclaimer. I am not a professional florist. I have way too many talented flower friends to even joke about being one. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t like to have some fun.
When looking down at my floral foam block, I tried to picture it as a 3×3 grid. For this arrangement, I started with my taller “filler” pieces (the Cream Flower Buds & Berries Picks). I placed one in each corner of the floral foam as well as one in the center. Then, I went around and placed a Gold Hydrangea Pick between each buds & berries pick as well as one in the center. (I just spread open the center pick to fray it out and placed it in the center.) Using a few Green Sunflower Picks, I wanted to break up the color of the hydrangeas along the base by placing a few along the front of the arrangement. To finish it up, I filled any gaps and made the arrangement look extra full by adjusting, spreading, and fluffing those filler stems. It’s all about playing with it until you find the look you’re going for!
I really loved how my DIY pumpkin flower arrangement turned out this year. Check out how I styled it on my console table in the pictures below!
Well there you have it, friends! I hope you enjoyed this super simple DIY that will help you display your beloved Fall florals in a new and unique way this year.
