Winter Wellness with Simply Earth Essential Oils

Well, friends, we’re officially in that space between Christmas and New Years where I don’t know what day it is, who I am, or what I’m supposed to be doing. All I know is that I’m ready for January, and I’m even more ready for the new year! Who else is ready for January? I’m usually not super excited for New Years. But, I feel like this year is super special. I mean, not only is it a new year… but it’s a new decade!

If you’re anything like me, you probably have been scribbling in a journal all week thinking, dreaming, and planning for what goals you want to focus on in the next year. I’ll be sharing mine in another post this week, but one huge focus of mine in this next year is to continue prioritizing my health. Not only with that do I want to prioritize my weight and continue cleaning up my diet, but I also want to clean up the products that I’m using. Enter in: Simply Earth.

I’ve used Simply Earth essential oils for 6 months now, and to say that I love them is a bit of an understatement. When I got my first essential oil recipe box back in August, I had no idea all of what essential oils could do to create a toxin free home for myself and my little family. The ladies at Simply Earth have made it so easy to incorporate essential oils into my everyday routine. Not to mention, my husband even loves them now and is starting to use them regularly too!

One example: Rob and I have now stopped taking medicine to help us sleep at night and completely replaced it with their lavender and tranquility blend oils.

Simply Earth Essential Oils

If you’ve been looking to also start a wellness journey incorporating essential oils for 2020, I think you’re going to love getting started with Simply Earth.  If you’re not totally familiar with Simply Earth, why I love them, and their essential oil recipe box that I’ve been raving about month after month after month, here’s a little bit of information about them below.

Simply Earth is an essential oil company focused on making essential oils easy to use and helping you create a natural home. While they work hard to help you create a natural home, they’re also committed to quality with their Simply Pure Promise to provide you with the highest quality, 100% pure essential oils. Not to mention, without a middleman, they are at least half the price of MLM brands like Young Living. (For example, the Relief and Clary Sage oils in this month’s box would have cost you $92 alone from doTerra!)

My 3 Favorite Things About Simply Earth Essential Oils

1 | The Quality + They Make Essential Oils EASY!

I love that I can count on Simply Earth to provide me with all-natural, 100% pure essential oils that I can trust are natural and healthy to use in my home. But what’s even better is that Simply Earth is also all about making the use of essential oils easy and safe.

Simply Earth tells you about each essential oil on the back of the bottle. They include the part of the plant it came from, the origin, the plant name, and the aroma that the oil has. Meanwhile, it is also disclosed if an oil is child safe – and the age in which it is safe to use. (Which my momma friends know is super important!) This month they also included a card that disclosed whether the oils were cat safe, dog safe, and pregnancy safe. It really made me feel like they cared about their #squad enough to make sure using essential oils was just as safe as it was easy.

2 | Helping the World

To be honest, what actually sold me on Simply Earth is that they partner with a variety of different organizations to end human trafficking.  They help these amazing organizations by sharing 13% of their profits each month to organizations like 5 Stones, Exodus Cry, The Daughter Project, and Grounds of Grace. This is a cause I have prayed for and supported since I was introduced to it while leading college ministry back in Texas, and it made me SO happy to see an organization this month based out of the town I grew up in in South Dakota!

This month, Simply Earth is partnering with Call to Freedom. Call to Freedom is an organization located in Sioux Falls, SD. They are on the front lines, supporting survivors of human trafficking with the care they need on the path to freedom. They provide emergency assistance, support needs, and offer long-term services so that survivors can be self sufficient.

3 | Community and Support

Simply Earth has an amazing Facebook group exclusively for Simply Earth Recipe Box subscribers! In this group, subscribers can ask questions, share their own favorite recipes, and give each other tips and tricks for making the most of their monthly recipe box. As someone who has always tended to stick to the basics when it comes to essential oils (because I don’t know a lot), I love this! I also really love that they also include a card in their recipe box with descriptions of each oil, their properties, different uses, and benefits. It makes me feel so comfortable (and excited!) knowing how to use each oil.

They also recently announced their launch of Simply Earth Institute coming soon! Members will receive free access to courses on using essential oils and making their own natural products. (In addition to the recipes in your recipe box each month!)

Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box

As if the party couldn’t really get any better, Simply Earth also has a monthly essential oil subscription box. But this isn’t like the other subscription boxes you’ve ordered in your life where they are typically filled with trial sized or lower quality items in order to keep it affordable and *just* good enough to keep you paying for it month after month. The Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box is different. It’s a subscription box that anyone who wants to jump on the wellness wagon this year will love!

Each month’s essential oil recipe box contains: 4 Full sized oils, 6 Recipes, and fun extras make it the perfect gift for yourself or a friend. The best part? It’s a $150 value for only $39 per box! Meanwhile, as a subscribing member, you’ll also receive exclusive access to members-only discounts and sales on Simply Earth products.

How The Recipe Box Works

The Simply Earth aromatherapy team works together to come up with a theme and design the perfect recipes. Then, each month you get all the ingredients, containers, and extras you need to make the natural recipes… delivered right to your doorstep! With the step-by-step simple instructions and everything you need to get started, you’ll be changing up your routine to a toxin-free one in no time.

Plus: A Big Blue Bonus Box!

That’s not all either. In addition to the essential oil recipe box, you will also get a big blue bonus box filled with even more goodies when you first subscribe! Along with beeswax, almond oil, and coconut oil to be used with my recipes for the next 6 months, my bonus box also came filled with empty roll-on containers and 5ml blend bottles to save all my favorite blend combinations. Your big blue bonus box will have everything you need to help you enjoy your essential oil recipe boxes for the next 6 months.

Missed the Monthly Box?

NEW From Simply Earth: Starter Box

The themed monthly essential oil recipe boxes from Simply Earth are only getting more popular – which means, they are starting to sell out fast. For reference, the November box sold out in DAYS. The December box didn’t make it to mid-month. So to keep the party going and not make people wait for next month’s box before getting their hands on one, the ladies at Simply Earth have created the new starter box!

Just like the monthly themed boxes, the new starter box contains 4 full-sized essential oils and all the sweet extras. (Plus even more with my code at the bottom of this post!) However, instead of having one theme like the monthly box, it is specially designed to introduce you to a bunch of different ways to use essential oils. It really is perfect for those who are new to essential oils like I was.

How it works is really simple. Each month when the themed box sells out, a starter box will be offered in its place until the next month’s box becomes available. This means that if you’ve been dying to try the recipe box but missed getting on the bandwagon, you won’t have to wait till the next month to get your very own box. After you snag a Starter Box, you’ll then be part of the #squad and will never miss a themed box again!

NEW From Simply Earth: Essential Oils Beginner Course

Ever since I’ve been getting into essential oils to help create a toxin-free home for myself and my little family, I’ve been trying to do research on the different oils I’ve gotten in each month’s box from Simply Earth. (The Simply Earth blog is an amazing resource!) It was like they’ve been reading my mind — because they’re launching something super exciting this month to kick off 2020!

Starting this month, you can become an expert in making your home toxin-free with their Essential Oils for Beginners Course! Modules will be released weekly over the next few months, but you’ll have as much time as you need to get through it. As long as you’re subscribed to Simply Earth, you’ll have access to the course! Topics will include how to use essential oils safely, how to blend essential oils, and how to use essential oils in cleaning / wellness / skincare/ etc!

A Look Inside: January’s Essential Oil Recipe Box

To accompany all of those wellness goals you’ve set for the new year, January’s essential oil recipe box theme is Winter Wellness to help you get a kick start on making your 2020 toxin-free. The ladies at Simply Earth understand that it’s easy to come up with excuses to avoid self-care – whether it’s the expense, time, or just simply feeling like you’re “not worth it” (which you totally are!) This month’s budget friendly box really has everything you need to give yourself a little love this month. Meanwhile, they are so easy and quick that I promise you’ll find the time to make self-care a priority.

The recipes in this month’s box will help you focus, support your body’s natural processes, and refresh you. The oils in the January box include the following:

  • Relief: a signature Simply Earth oil blend ; relieves pain and inflammation.
  • Ho Wood: assists meditation, calms, cools, relieves pain, and supports the immune system.
  • Lemon: uplifts, clarifies the mind, and cleans.
  • Clary Sage: pain relief, circulation support, anxiety relief, and hormone balance.

Here’s a look at a few of my favorite recipes from this month’s box:

Recipe 1: Meditation Diffuser Blend

As you already know, diffuser blends are my FAVORITE. It is really easy for them to be too with how amazing the recipes have been in each month’s box. The Meditation Diffuser Blend is hands down my favorite diffuser blend yet. (I even have it diffusing in the office right now as I type this!) With this blend of Ho Wood and Lemon essential oils promoting mental clarity and deepening meditation, it is the perfect blend to have going in your home to help you refresh for the new year and get you ready to crush those goals. I have a feeling this blend will be a staple for me in 2020!

Recipe 2: Relief Roll On & Recipe 3: Relief Massage Oil

If one of your goals for 2020 is also physical wellness, you’re going to love these two recipes. I love that the Relief Roll On is compact and easy to carry with me in my gym bag. Meanwhile, the Relief Massage Oil is perfect for unwinding after a really long day.

Rob struggles with neck pain (from an old football injury), so we tried the Relief Massage Oil on his neck last night. I swear he almost fell asleep as I was rubbing his neck with it. In his words… “it smelled nice, it felt nice, it was nice.” The Relief Roll On is also perfect for him to take in his work bag on days he needs a little more relief. (Basically, we’re going to be fighting over these oils… HA!)

Recipe 4: Refresh Spray

This was another super easy recipe that I was super excited about. I like having room sprays in my bathrooms to keep them smelling fresh and clean. (Because when I light candles, I don’t want to walk away and forget about them!) Now, I’m so excited to have one that is all natural and toxin free! I’m keeping this bottle in my guest bathroom in our hallway to spray as needed and before our guests arrive as I do a quick clean.

Note: Keep in mind that the Relief essential oil blend is not dog or cat safe. I’d avoid spraying it into any fabrics that your fur babies like to sleep on (like the couch, throw blankets, or throw pillows!) I decided to put my Refresh Spray in my guest bathroom to spray as needed and before guests arrive.

Recipe 5: Relax & Detox Foot Bath

Lastly, you can’t have self care without a Relax & Detox Foot Bath, am I right? I don’t know about you, but I love to soak my feet in the tub. With busy schedules, it’s so much easier to carve out time for than a full out bath with bath salts or a bath bomb. Especially if I’m having a rough day and need to reset, I like to run a foot bath in the tub in my guest bathroom and sit on the edge of the tub with a cup of coffee and a book. It’s typically only for a few minutes, but I feel like a new woman when I’m done! I love them! The essential oils blend, working to help detox and promote circulation.

Introducing: baby jail! 👶🏼🍼 (well, a sliv Introducing: baby jail! 👶🏼🍼 (well, a sliver view of it.) Chaos ensued today from putting that thing together. I obviously didn’t read the dimensions because it’s large, in charge, and takes up a lot of room in our living room — which in turn caused me to rearrange all our furniture. 🤷🏼‍♀️😅 Not only did I get a great workout 🤪 but Willie also found a new perch to bark at the neighbors out the front door. But you know what? This is real life — and I LOVE this season of life that God has blessed me with. With two babies in heaven, I’ve prayed for this season for so long. ❤️ And while it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing thing on Instagram, I hope to inspire you with the real life of living where you love, in the season of life that you’re in. ✨❤️ #ahostinghome

I was going to wait for it to be completely done, I was going to wait for it to be completely done, but I can’t help myself! ✨ Tackled this china cabinet yesterday, and all I can say is WOW WHAT A TRANSFORMATION. (Swipe to see the before! ➡️) 😍👏🏼 This china cabinet belonged to my grandmother, and It’s been so fun getting to make it my own and make it apart of my home. I painted it with @behrpaint chalk paint in the color ‘Classic Noir’ and accented it with the most darling @wallpops wallpaper in the back. Now I just need to do the finishing touches by rub n’ buffing the hardware, and it’ll be done. 😍 I originally wanted to paint it white because I was nervous to paint it black— but now I’m SO glad I did! My motto for 2021: don’t be afraid to be bold with design! (It’s just paint! 😉) So tell me, what do y’all think?! #ahostinghome
Don’t mind me, just chilling in my comfy clothes Don’t mind me, just chilling in my comfy clothes and slippers admiring the work that I did today. Master bathroom paint is (pretty much) finished, and I’m already in love with how my vision for it is coming together. Rob keeps laughing because this all started with needing to fix our shower... yet I have to remind him that he knew what he got into when he married me. 😘 I can’t believe how much painting this little wall made our marble tile pop! Now I want to put this color everywhere in my house. 😍 P.S. Did you catch some paint project tips in my stories today? ✨#ahostinghome

Too early for Spring, yet when I put Christmas decor away, I like to put it all away so I can have a fresh and clean slate for the new year. That means lots of greenery and fresh additions mixed with cozy textures to give it a clean and fresh feeling while I focus on projects and things around the house for the new year. How do y’all like to transition and decorate after Christmas? #ahostinghome

Hello, progress photo! My name is Cathy, and I lov Hello, progress photo! My name is Cathy, and I loveee to paint! ✨❤️ While I only get small slivers of time right now because I’m a mama to a sweet newborn, I’m making the most of it — and our master bathroom is slowly getting its much needed facelift. Our new shower door won’t get delivered until later this month, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me from getting my hands on the rest of the walls! I absolutely love this Pure White by @sherwinwilliams — it’s the same white I used when I redid our guest bathroom. It’s the perfect neutral white that is going to make this space look so much bigger and brighter! 😍 #ahostinghome
This entryway makeover was another one of my favor This entryway makeover was another one of my favorite DIY projects in 2020, inspired by @mindfullygray’s entry and @thejadebennett’s color vibes. It’s crazy how much of a difference paint and a wood board with hooks can make! ✨ It completely transformed this space and gave it so much functionality. (SWIPE ➡️ to see the before!) I see a lot more paint and DIYs in 2021 — and I CAN’T WAIT! 👏🏼

Happy New Year, friends! ✨ As I mentioned on Ins Happy New Year, friends! ✨ As I mentioned on Insta Stories the other day, we ended 2020 with a leak in our master bathroom that is making us take out our builder grade shower insert and redo it (so 2020, right? 🤦🏼‍♀️) — so we’re starting out 2021 with a master bathroom makeover! ✨ Since we have to redo the shower, we decided to go ahead and makeover the rest of the bathroom too because it’s a space we really haven’t touched yet. I’ve been dying to get my hands on it, but I have always been too hesitant and unsure of what I wanted to do. Channeling my goal for 2021 of being bold and fearless in my DIY projects this year, we’re going for it! Here’s a peek at the design board I have working so far, and you can see the progress and behind the scenes on Instagram stories as we go. (I’ve started saving it all to a highlight on my profile too!) To say I can’t wait is a bit of an understatement. So tell me, what do you think of my vision so far?! #ahostinghome

It was funky and bold and totally out of my comfort zone when it came to my decorating style, and I think that’s why I’m so obsessed with it! Is it weird to say that my guest bathroom inspires me everyday? ✨ This next year my goal is to be bold with my design choices and projects while being fearless in picking up a tool and trying something new — and I can’t wait to kick it off with our master bathroom makeover! ✨ What are your goals for the new year? #ahostinghome

I usually keep up my Christmas decor until after the new year, but I’ve been craving a clean slate for all the fun projects I want to do (since I had to put a lot of them on pause after I got pregnant!) Alsoooo it’s been up since the beginning of October because I was a crazy nesting pregnant lady — so it’s about time, right? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😂 Now my house feels extremely empty, but I can’t wait for something fresh for the new year! ✨ #ahostinghome
