A Peek at Our Cozy Red + White Christmas Dining Room
As you already know, my dining room is one of my absolute favorite spaces to decorate and change up for the holidays and changing seasons. There’s just something about the level of conversation that happens around the table – and for that reason, it’s one of my favorite spots in our home. I’d even go as far as saying that my dining room is the heart of my home for so many reasons. Your dining room is an opportunity for you to create a welcoming space in the heart of your home for your family and guests. With now being the season of all things hosting, why not start by making your dining room a little extra festive this year?
Today on the blog, I wanted to share a peek of our cozy red and white dining room all decked out just in time for Christmas this year. Whether you’re hosting a formal Christmas dinner or having hot cocoa with your husband and the kids, I hope to inspire you to create a space that gives off the magic of Christmas in your own home this year.

Cozy Red + White Dining Room for Christmas
If you remember back to the beginning of November, I blogged about my Cozy Christmas Design Inspiration for this year. (You can read that post, HERE.) I feel like my decorating theme has evolved a lot over the past few years – and this year took a completely different turn. (and I LOVE it!) With that being said, this year I really wanted to get down to the root of what I loved about being home for Christmas. I love the comfortable, cozy, and warm-ness about being cuddled up at home in your with family. But mostly, I just love all the precious moments and memories that come with the Christmas season.
This year I wanted to embrace more of a rustic and nostalgic red and white Christmas look. So, I decided to channel a more traditional color palette filled with creamy whites, deep reds (like antique Coca-Cola red!), and dark evergreen greens. I was all about channeling all of the cozy and comfortable vibes to make my home as warm and inviting as possible this holiday season. And I feel like the look really came to life in my dining room!

I’m really loving how everything came together this year. Between the red and white and mixed and matched patterns, I can’t get enough of it all. However, my favorite things about my dining room this year are definitely my Christmas tree and my centerpiece. My tree is the infamous $35 6′ flocked tree from Walmart that sells out every year. (It really is the perfect inexpensive tree!) I now can’t imagine decorating my dining room for Christmas without it. It is the perfect touch of Christmas with the perfect pop of Christmas red, and it makes our dining room so cozy.
Meanwhile, with the centerpiece, I really wanted to channel a traditional and classic Christmas look that was very nostalgic in feel. I started with a long wooden dough bowl on top of my table runner and added in snow fluff to give it some texture. I then placed these mini trees from Target along the length of the bowl. In between to break it up, I added these super easy and inexpensive DIY snow globes to create a very cozy and nostalgic feel. They’re unique, cute, and a great conversation starter for anyone sitting at the table! For a finishing touch, I added these DIY hand lettered ornaments to bring the eyes up and encourage conversation among guests seated at the table.
