A Peek at Last Year’s Christmas Decor

A Peek at Last Year’s Christmas Decor
If you’re an early decorator like me, you’re probably in the full swing of things right now as we strive to get it all done (and the bins back in the attic!) so we can sit on the couch with some hot cocoa and the Hallmark channel to fully enjoy this season of cozy.
So why am I sharing last year’s Christmas decor this year on the blog? As you probably remember, I didn’t share hardly any Christmas content last year. With traveling so much for work and to see family for the holidays, I just really didn’t have the time. On top of that, I was pregnant with Layne (1st trimester) and SO sick and tired. With that being said, I decided to take the holidays off from the blog to keep from over-doing it. (As a home blogger, that’s CRAZY.) I didn’t even finish decorating my home!
Meanwhile, I’ve got so much exciting content planned for y’all over the next couple months, and I am beyond ecstatic to share my love for the holidays with you this year. My love for Christmas runs deep, and I’ve got all my *extra* from my momma. She’s the master of decorating for Christmas and hosting the holidays, so I can’t wait to teach you what I’ve learned from her and carried into my own home! While I have been decorating our home for Christmas this year, I’ve been sharing some little peeks of last year’s Christmas decor on Instagram in the meantime. You can read more about my Christmas ‘theme’ for this year as well as my inspiration, HERE. But today on the blog, I want to share an overview of it all (mainly so it’s all in one place!)

Neutral Farmhouse Christmas Decor
My deep love for neutrals can even be seen with the transformation of my house into a literal winter wonderland. There’s just something about neutral Christmas decor that makes a home look so bright while also making it feel so cozy, fresh / clean, and relaxing. And… let’s face it, white Christmas decor is also the closest thing us southerners will get to a white Christmas.
Not to mention, as much as I love all-white Christmas decor in itself, I also discovered this year how much I loved it in terms of pivoting themes. Having a good base of neutral Christmas decor will allow you to pivot year after year into different themes (if you want) without breaking the bank. All it takes is purchasing some new accessories to add into your existing tried-and-true line up. You can read more about my Christmas ‘theme’ for this year as well as my inspiration, HERE.
Here’s a peek at my winter wonderland home last year with my focus on white decor and flocked accents. I hope it inspires you as much as it did me last year!

These flocked mini trees were such an easy DIY. I got the mini trees from Target’s Dollar Spot for (I think) $5. They were bright green, but I sprayed them down with this snow flock spray to give them a softer and frosty look. I’m not sure of the hold on it long term. However, they still looked perfect when I pulled them out of the bin this year!
THIS is the gorgeous $35 6′ flocked tree that sells out super early year after year. Shop it, HERE. While it is unlit, I personally don’t mind since it is in my dining room. Even then, you really can’t beat the price of it! It would be the perfect tree for a smaller space (or even in a child’s bedroom!)
These 9′ long flocked garlands are UNDER $15! Such an amazing deal! As you can see, I have several throughout my home. Shop them, HERE. They are the perfect accent for mantles or sofa tables. They are even amazing for a dining room table to create a long, low centerpiece perfect for entertaining.
