Simply Earth September Essential Oil Recipe Box

I’m not really sure where the month went and how September is already literally right around the corner, but I’m here for it. Because September is my birth month! I tend to be one of the people that celebrates their birthday all month long, and I anticipate this year being no different. This year I’m kicking off my celebrating a little early with some happy mail in the form of Simply Earth’s September Essential Oil Recipe Box! I was like a little kid on Christmas morning when this little brown box came to my house this week.

Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box

If you’re anything like me, you’ve subscribed to your fair share of subscription boxes. They promise an array of products. However, they are typically filled with low quality and trial sized products. This is to keep it affordable and *just* good enough to keep you paying for it. Not only is the Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box different. But, it’s also a subscription box that any essential oil junkie is going to fall in love with. Full sized oils and fun extras make it the perfect gift for yourself or a friend. The best part? It’s a $150 value for only $39 per month!

My Favorite Thing About Simply Earth Essential Oils

Besides the fact that they are all-natural, 100% pure essential oils, I love that Simply Earth tells you about each essential oil on the back of the bottle. They include the part of the plant it came from, the origin, the plant name, and the aroma that the oil has. It is also disclosed if an oil is child safe – and the age in which it is safe to use. They are also all about a commitment to quality and creating a natural home for your family. Meanwhile, their prices are fair for the quality that you’re receiving.

As someone who always tended to stick to the basics when it comes to essential oils, I don’t always know a lot about the benefits of specific oils. If you’re like me, you’re going to love that they include a card in their recipe box with descriptions of each oil, their properties, different uses, and benefits! It made me feel so comfortable (and excited!) knowing how to use each oil.

How The Recipe Box Works

It’s super simple actually. The Simply Earth aromatherapy team designs the perfect recipes, and each month you get all the ingredients, containers, and extras you need to make the natural recipes… delivered right to your doorstep each month!

Hello, Bonus Box!

In addition to the essential oil recipe box, you will also get a big blue bonus box filled with even more goodies when you first subscribe! Along with beeswax, almond oil, and coconut oil to be used with my recipes for the next 6 months, my bonus box also came filled with empty roll-on containers and 5ml blend bottles to save all my favorite blend combinations!

A Look Inside: September’s Essential Oil Recipe Box

The Simply Earth September recipe box, in a way, continues along August’s theme of self care with uplifting blends and the opportunity to try your hand at soap making! September’s Essential Oil Recipe Box included aloe glycerine soap base, a soap mold, Lemongrass essential oil, and the Happy Joy essential oil blend. It also included some oils that I had never really heard of before (Cajeput and Bay oils). But one thing I love about the girls at Simply Earth is that they make using oils super easy – regardless of your experience level with them!

Here’s a look at a few of my favorite recipes from this month’s box:

Recipe 1: Happy Joy Roll On

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve stopped sniffing the Happy Joy essential oil blend since I opened the box. It’s a custom blend by Simply Earth containing Geranium, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit, and Yiang Yiang essential oils to help lift your mood. I was so excited to see the Happy Joy Roller recipe in this month’s box so I could take the happy on the go with me wherever I go! Not only does it help lift my mood when I’m having a rough day, but it’s a great natural alternative to perfume on days I go to the gym – or days I just don’t feel like wearing any.

Recipe 2: Sugar Scrub Soap Bar

Y’all, I’ve never made soap before. I’ve always seen recipes on Pinterest, but it all seemed too difficult of a process. So, to be honest, I was a little bit intimidated at the thought of it when I opened Simply Earth’s September recipe box. But when I tell you it was SO easy and fun, that’s a bit of an understatement.

I love sugar scrubs, and this sugar scrub soap DIY is the best of them all. It only took about 15 minutes to make, and it smelled like absolute heaven. (Not to mention, it felt amazing to use on my hands!) I really want to get more of the aloe glycerine soap base – because this was definitely my favorite of the soap recipes in this month’s box. It would also really be the perfect, easy giftie for my girl friends for the upcoming holidays! (or really any day!)

Recipe 3: Flowers, Spice, and Something Nice Soap

While the sugar scrub soap recipe was my favorite out of these two, I still had a lot of fun making this one. The only thing I wished I had was dried flowers. Instead, I added in some Rosemary for a boost in the natural and clean scent. It definitely gave the soap some texture (and I think I definitely added too much), but I kind of liked that it was a little exfoliating when scrubbing my hands after messing in the garden. Next time, I’ll just plan to order some dried lavender buds from the Simply Earth website. With dried flowers or herbs and a super clean feel, it’s another great little self care giftie for your girl friends (or for yourself!)

Recipe 4: Flowers and Spice Diffuser Blend

Y’all already know if you ever step foot in my house, there’s a diffuser on somewhere. It’s almost a constant thing. I especially like to put my diffuser on the sofa table behind out couch so that it travels through the entire heart of our home. I love that Simply Earth includes a diffuser blend recipe with each month’s box to encourage a natural home.

The Flowers and Spice Diffuser Blend is definitely one of my favorite blends that I’ve made so far. With the Happy Joy blend and hints of Lemongrass pulling through the natural and clean scent of the Cajeput and Bay oils, it’s the perfect blend to lift your mood and refresh your space. I have been having it diffuse on repeat since I made my master blend from this month’s box!

The furniture for the study finally came in, and I was SO excited to see how perfect everything looks in here. Hands down my favorite room in the house. 😍👏🏼 Real talk: I can’t wait to curl up in here with a cup of coffee and a book while my kids destroy the house around me. 🫠🤷🏼‍♀️😂 #ahostinghome

Spring gardening is right around the corner, and I Spring gardening is right around the corner, and I’m already starting to get ours prepped thanks to @walmart Lawn and Garden! #AD With a newborn and a toddler, running errands can be quite the task. But thanks to #WalmartLawnandGarden, I’ve been able to get everything I need to kickstart our garden this year in one place — from the convenience of snuggling my babies on my couch with Walmart.com and the app! The time it saved me from running all over town, I got to spend making core memories with John as we taught him how to start his very first set of seeds in the @jiffygroup seed starting tray.

Here’s a look at what we got to kickstart our garden this year:
- The @jiffygroup Seed Starting Greenhouse Kit: to grow our own seedlings and get a head start on the season by starting them indoors!
- The @ferrymorseseed Seed Starting Heat Mat: to give our seeds the best chance possible to promote germination and improve transplant results
- Ferry Morse Seeds (flowers, tomatoes, and peppers!)
- @pennington Rejuvenate Potting Mix and Garden Soil: to give our seedlings the nutrients they need once transplanted into our garden
- Pennington Rejuvenate Tomato Plant Food
- @scottslawn Landscaping Fabric: to keep our garden clean and free of pesky weeds
- The @flexonhose Flextreme Advanced 100ft Hose: to keep it all watered without fighting kinks as we move easily around our raised garden beds

January 20th, 2023 💛

James was born last Friday morning, and spent the first 5 days in the NICU for some breathing issues and fluid in his lungs. While those days were extremely rough, trying, and brought back a lot of emotions from Layne’s birth — God is so good, and my heart is just overwhelmed by His faithfulness. My favorite moment in life thus far was surprising John before bedtime the night we were finally discharged to come home. I’ll never forget the look on his face when I walked through that door. Thank you, Jesus, for my babies. 🦋💛 #ahostinghome

✨ STUDY REVEAL ✨ I got a lot of nervous respon ✨ STUDY REVEAL ✨ I got a lot of nervous responses when I said I wanted to design an all black formal study right off my entryway, but I’m completely obsessed with every detail of this space. Rob has always wanted a study, so my goal with this space when it’s finished is to have almost like a moody, swanky cigar lounge feel. When we moved into this house this spring, I told Rob I was done playing it “safe for resale” with designing projects. Here’s to more of doing whatever the heck I want design wise in 2023! 👏🏼✨ Next up: let’s get this space styled and furnished! #ahostinghome
