Christmas in the Country Barn Sale and Market Weekend 2018
Christmas in the Country Barn Sale and Market Weekend 2018
It has been a hot minute since I’ve been on the blog. We’ve had a crazy month over here at A Hosting Home! As you may have saw on our Instagram and Instagram Stories, we were at the Christmas in the Country Market this past weekend up in Jefferson, Georgia. For those of you who may not know, the Christmas in the Country Market is a three-day event hosted by H & H Homestead at their barn in Jefferson. I have gone to shop at the market in previous years, so I couldn’t have been more excited when A Hosting Home had the opportunity to showcase our work at a booth at this year’s show!
We had high hopes for our little 10×10 booth. However, some of those hopes were crushed with all the rain that we’ve been having in Georgia lately. It poured rain the week leading up to the event (and it poured rain the first day of the market), so we were unable to bring some of the larger pieces we wanted to display in fear that they’d be ruined in the 2 hour trip up to the market. But, I was super surprised to see how many shoppers showed up in the pouring rain and sloppy mud on that Friday to shop. It turned out exactly how God wanted it to!
A Hosting Home’s Booth
We had our barn doors on display with a lot of smaller products that were a huge hit with all the shoppers over the weekend. From our ornaments and the door tags to the farmhouse signs, everything in our booth was handcrafted and hand painted without the use of stencils or vinyl stickers. Our hearts were so full with all of the compliments from people shopping and walking by our booth. I think that our best sellers were definitely the wood slice ornaments and door tags. I may be a little biased, though, but I was in love with every single product in our booth! It made me smile to see so many people excited to shop for their loved ones.
Despite a rough day on Friday with the rain and mud (and fire ants!), we ended up having a really great and fun weekend. My amazing mother came down from Charlotte to help me with Rob having to work and go back and forth for the dogs. It turned out to be a great girls weekend with my mom. Not to mention, there was a lot bonding over some things we both love – shopping, Christmas, and crafts. Rob and I have always wanted A Hosting Home to be a family business, and it makes my heart so happy to know that it is.

The Market and My Shopping Haul
You didn’t expect me to sit at a booth among 80+ amazing vendors and not shop, did you? The market was full of amazing and gorgeous items that my wallet couldn’t help but cry for. My self-control was better than I could have imagined. I ended up walking away from the market only slightly empty handed. I got those gorgeous gray pressed glass candlesticks and a beautiful chippy white, distressed dough bowl. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up snagging a photo of the dough bowl. But, it will be up on the blog soon with my Christmas centerpiece.
Although I didn’t purchase a lot at this year’s market, I came home with so much Christmas inspiration. I couldn’t wait to start decorating! All of the booths were absolutely amazing, but walking through the H & H Homestead barn felt like a little kid walking through a candy store. One of my favorite things was their mauve Christmas tree. My mom is doing a mauve and gold tree this year in their living room, and this little preview gave me all the heart eyes!
Till Next Time!
All-in-all, it was such a great weekend at the Christmas in the Country Market this past weekend. We can’t wait for more market weekends to come in the future. I’m so thankful for each and every person that shopped with us. I’m also so thankful for all of our blog and Instagram friends that stopped by to say hello! My heart is so incredibly full. God is so great to this little business of ours.
Meanwhile, I also can’t wait to get our online shop up and running hopefully very soon. In the meantime, take a look at the photos I shared in this blog post to see our little booth and all we had to offer! See something you love?
