Simple and Neutral Fall Farmhouse Dining Room | The Perfect Fall Transition Decor!
Simple and Neutral Fall Farmhouse Dining Room
As you probably already can guess by now, our dining room is one of my favorite rooms in our home. It’s actually where I’m currently sitting while writing this blog post for you! As part of the heart of our home, there’s just something about all the natural light that comes in throughout the day that makes it feel so perfect. When it comes to my dining room, it is often the first space that I transition into the next season. Not only is it super easy to constantly change out my centerpieces to create new looks, but it is also the best way to get me inspired for when I style other areas of my home. Fall and winter is easily my favorite half of the year, so you already know I was super excited to embrace it a little earlier than normal this year!
The Perfect Fall Transition Decor
Can I be honest with you? Until recently, I was really never a fan of decorating for fall. (I know, shocker!) Maybe it’s because I went to Texas A&M and burnt orange was like the sign of the devil, but I’ve never been a huge fan of all the orange that came with fall. While fall and winter is my favorite half of the year, I found myself always skipping straight to Christmas when it came to decorating my home.
However, I’ve learned that there are ways to celebrate this season of change while keeping true to my love of everything neutrals. It’s honestly why I’m so excited to embrace it even earlier than normal this year. This year I decided to push “tradition” aside and build a fall color palette for our home based on that love of neutrals – and let me tell you, I couldn’t be more obsessed! One of my absolute favorite things from this Spring and Summer was all of the sage home decor that I found myself inspired by, and I couldn’t help but bring it with me into the fall season as my accent color. I then found the perfect box centerpiece at Homegoods, and I knew it had to be a match made in heaven.
My Decorating Go-to
When it comes to decorating in the fall and winter, my go-to decor is always to add in candlesticks. It’s the easiest way to naturally add an element of warmth and intimacy into a space. Not to mention, it’s one of the most simple ways to decorate and change up your decor’s look based on what you pair with them. If you don’t know where to start with your fall decor this year, I’d suggest that you start with some candlesticks and build around those.
I started with the perfect box centerpiece with pillar candles and created my tablescape from the inspiration that it gave me. Like my neutral Christmas decor, I decided to go with a more natural, woodland vibe by featuring the most darling hedgehog critters on the china with my mini ceramic pumpkins. I then added in some texture with my staple gray knit runner and the seagrass placemats. Meanwhile, the buffalo check napkins are definitely my favorite finishing touch – adding a little bit of a modern farmhouse vibe.
