My Unlikely Obsession with the New Opalhouse Line at Target

My Unlikely Obsession with the New Opalhouse Line at Target

As a lover of everything chippy and farmhouse, I didn’t really think much about the new Opalhouse line that launched at Target this month. To be honest, I’m just still swooning over Magnolia’s new line that recently dropped. To clarify in case you’ve been living under a rock… Yes, yet another new home decor line dropped at Target and people are losing. their. minds. (All for good reason!) And I’m here to tell you all about it.

The reason why I initially didn’t give the new Opalhouse line much of a thought when it first launched this month was because it kind of had some bohemian and indochic vibes – which as a designer I do love! However, the bright contrasting colors just aren’t my traditional style when it comes to styling my own home. (This girl is all about those cozy neutrals!) However, when I got to digging through the different ‘styles’ within the Opalhouse line, I found that it is really Anthropoligie-esque  – with high quality pieces to dress up your space at more affordable prices.

Today on the blog I’m so excited to share with y’all some of my favorite picks from the new line. Even if you’re a farmhouse girl like me, I can promise you’re not going to want to miss this unlikely new obsession. Sit down now – because you’re going to fall in love!

My Favorites From the New Opalhouse Line at Target // My Unlikely Obsession with the New Opalhouse Line at Target

Some of My Favorites From the New Opalhouse Line at Target

White Moroccan Wedding Quilt // Lory Pouf // Glass Pineapple Table Lamp // Pom Basket // Tufted Oversize Square Pillow // Textured Ottoman // Wood Barrel Chair // Woven Picnic Basket // Wood Serving Tray // Rattan Tray // Macrame Basket (Also in white!) // Woven Outdoor Rug // Artificial Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree // Striped Throw Blanket // Patio Umbrella // Pink Plastic Goblet (Perfect for Outdoor Entertaining!)

I can almost bet you’re laughing at me right now – because almost everything that I picked out is a neutral lover’s dream. In all honesty, I did it for a reason. Not only because that’s just what I love and naturally gravitate towards. However, I really wanted to show that you can actually take pieces from this very different line and incorporate it into your existing farmhouse decor to make it modern, fresh, and unique. Bohemian, Indochic, and Farmhouse? In the same sentence? I’m breaking all sorts of rules today!

Target’s Anthropologie?

Like I mentioned above, I really got a lot of Anthropolie-esque vibes with some of the pieces as I was digging through the line. Also, I must say, one of the things that I was the most impressed with regarding the Opalhouse line was their bedding. With their rich textures and gorgeous fabrics, they are absolutely amazing options to the more expensive Anthropologie bedding options while giving you some of the same looks and vibes. (Don’t act like you haven’t been dreaming of Anthropoligie’s Rivulet Quilt too… #beddinggoals)

It’s all in the details.

Among my favorites with the Opalhouse line include textiles as well as trays and baskets. When it comes to any home decor line, I really do gravitate towards the accents and details. It must just be part of my nature – I’m a sucker for the little details! One thing I always like to tell people who are wanting to learn how to style their homes is to start with their neutral base furniture pieces. These are your investment pieces. Then, rather than changing out major pieces of furniture (which is super expensive!), I love changing out details within spaces to add color or freshen up the look. Frankly, it’s just more cost effective. But also,  it really is amazing what some accent pieces and smaller touches can do to switch up the entire look of a room.

In the end, I must say that I have fallen in love with this line – maybe even as much as the Magnolia line! All it really took was some imagination. When it comes to styling your hosting home, there are no rules. Take a good look past combining decor styles that traditionally don’t go together and make some magic of your own. If you’ve been thinking of experimenting with adding pops of color into your home, the Opalhouse line at Target may be a great starting point for you. However, if you’re comfortable in your cozy neutrals (like me!) it’s also a great start to bringing modern vibes to your space that will make it unique and fun. There really is something for everyone with this line!

Tell me your thoughts!

What do you think of the new Opalhouse line at Target? Tell me, are you loving all the things bright and colorful, or did you gravitate towards the neutral and contrasting pieces like I did? Is there something your dying to get your hands on? Leave a comment below, and let’s chat!

Building raised garden beds and planting with a to Building raised garden beds and planting with a toddler who just wanted to dig and bury tools and throw dirt everywhere was as about as chaotic as you could imagine. (Forget wood for a second, have you seen how expensive DIRT is this year?! 🤦🏼‍♀️) Rob built me raised beds at our old house after Layne passed away and learning to garden became such a labor of love for me. We really missed having a garden last summer after we sold our old house and moved into the rental, so we were so excited to get started and plan another set of raised beds for this year for the new house. It’s a start — and we can’t wait to expand this little garden area even more as we go. 💛🪴 Are you excited for your garden this year? What are you growing?! #ahostinghome

Can I just say that if you’ve been on the fence Can I just say that if you’ve been on the fence about a bold design decision… to just do it! After I shared the black living room wall, I had a few friends tell me they wanted to do the same in other spaces in their home and they chickened out. Especially when it comes to paint, I say just go for it! Paint is one of the easiest ways to completely transform the look and feel of your home. It’s only paint — and that’s the beauty of it! If you hate it you can always paint it back. So instead of asking what if you hate it, ask yourself what if you LOVE it?! 🖤👏🏼 #ahostinghome
