Romantic Springtime Wedding Inspiration // The McGarity House Wedding Styled Shoot
The McGarity House Wedding Styled Shoot
I am so excited to be finally sharing The McGarity House wedding styled photoshoot with you on the blog today for a number of reasons. Not only is it absolutely breathtaking. But, its backstory is a prime example of how your wedding planner is so much more than just that. It shows just how many hats a great wedding planner really wears. I hear a lot of couples say that they can’t afford a wedding planner, but what I’m about to say next is exactly why you can’t afford to NOT have a wedding planner for your big day.
You may not know it by looking at the photos, but this photoshoot almost didn’t happen because of the weather. We had severe storms that morning with tornado warnings all over the area. However, we decided to push through and make it happen as if it were a real wedding day. But, we were suddenly down a hair stylist and make-up artist. Not to mention, we were behind schedule. We had a design plan in place, so our vendor team hit the ground running to make up for lost time.
Meanwhile, unable to get a replacement for hair and make-up on such short notice, I did what any great wedding planner would do for their bride in this situation. Not only did I plan and design this photoshoot, but I also set up and styled it in between doing our model’s hair and make-up. Growing up as a hairstylist’s daughter and then having worked in a salon, I had the knowledge and experience of creating a basic up-do and soft make-up look for our model.
So, I’m not just a wedding planner. I’m whatever it takes to give my clients what they deserve.
Romantic Springtime Wedding Inspiration
As you’ll see by swooning over the gallery below, this styled photoshoot turned out absolutely breathtaking! From the floral chandelier installation to the gold dripping detail on the cake (not to mention, the cake cart all together!), the details of this photoshoot will always hold a special place in my heart. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was sitting down with Kesia of Kesia Marie Photography at Starbucks for the first time getting to know her and her heart for her photography business and weddings.
When we sat down to discuss a design and concept for this shoot, she had ideas in mind on how she wanted it to look. However, she really needed help wrangling the ideas together, making them flow, and bringing her vision to life. We started off by discussing what words she wanted the details from this photoshoot to evoke. After throwing around a lot of different ideas and design directions, we kept coming back to the words: romantic, whimsical, and feminine. It’s safe to say that we accomplished just that.
Meanwhile, the organic floral design, gold detailing, and hints of pink against textured neutrals paired with the bright and airy vintage charm of The McGarity House gave it almost a ‘Marie Antoinette’-esque looking vibe that we instantly fell in love with while seeing it all come to life on the day of. Not to mention, our model looked so darling in her gold lace catherine gown by Erin Fetherson that gave the perfect air of whimsy that we wanted while maintaining a delicate and feminine look. Thankfully, we had enough of a break in the weather to capture some gorgeous bridal photos on the venue’s darling wrap around porch.
