Let’s be real for a minute.
I was an athlete in high school, and I did the gym thing with my friends in college. But, if you were to ask me what hell was like, I’d probably say it is an intimidating weight room full of body builders and spandex. Not to mention, you’re terrified in the corner not knowing what to do and going nowhere running in place on a treadmill. Should I also include that the devil would be teasing you with nachos and donuts?
Okay, so I don’t necessarily like the gym.
Can you tell? Although I don’t necessarily like the gym, one thing I loved in college was the group exercise classes. As students, you could pay like $75 for unlimited classes throughout the semester. Needless to say, we took advantage of the ‘unlimited’ aspect of the pass and took Zumba, Dance, Body Blaster, and Spin – to name just a few. We found ourselves fitting our workouts between our classes almost every day during the week. I loved it! It didn’t feel like working out when you had your girlfriends there with you in a fast pace class.
Fast forward some years: I’m graduated, married, moved halfway across the country, and a full time small business owner. Needless to say, my every-day workouts had been placed on the back burner. I was desperate to get back into a healthy routine. (and my favorite jeans!) But, I was terrified at the idea of joining a local gym by myself. I didn’t know what I was doing, I didn’t have my girlfriends to take classes with me, and I found it was incredibly expensive.

My favorite classes?
Spin class, party of one, please! It’s basically like taking a spin class in the privacy of my own living room with my dog snoring on the couch next to me. The trainer tells you when to do it all: increase resistance, sprint, recover, and stand out of the saddle. With class lengths ranging in intensity and time (from a quick 15 minutes to an hour!), there’s classes that fit every schedule and starting point.
Needless to say, I’m obsessed with this app now, and I knew I had to share it with you all. (and I’m not even getting paid to!)
